Mill Creek Headwaters Project
The Mill Creek Headwaters Project is reducing stream pollution and creating floodplain wetland in Butler County. Part of the project’s $498,000 federal grant reimbursed West Chester Township and OKI for converting two traditional stormwater detention basins into bioretention ponds along the upper Mill Creek. Project funds and in-kind services have also made a reality of project education, monitoring and stream restoration work in an area where suburban development is adding to the pressures of downstream urban development on water quality.
